Service Explanations

Timber Volume and Value Appraisal
This is our forest inventory and valuation for private lands.  This service is designed to estimate the volume and standing market value of timber on a parcel, including saw logs and if appropriate, pulp wood.  This service provides information to the landowner on the potential value of timber for land sale negotiations, for right-of-way (pipelines and powerlines) tree valuation or other forest management and planning purposes.  Stands (different size, age classes or species groups of trees) are mapped and sampled using point sampling and/or plot to collect a statistically significant data.  Data is collected on tree age, size, species and log quality class.  Statistical findings are used to calculate per acre volumes.  Standing valuation is

Pre-harvest Timber Inventory and Marking
This is complete inventory of all trees to be harvested during a specified harvest.  Trees are marked with indelible paint at the stump line.  Diameters, numbers of logs and log grades are recorded for each tree and used to develop a volume estimate and the standing value estimate for delivery at the sawmill log deck (cost of harvest is not included).
